Fifteen years ago, Sam Mont was sitting in yet another conference room watching a consulting team present a strategy deck that looked impressive but had zero connection to how businesses actually work in Silicon Valley. The recommendations were generic, the timeline was unrealistic, and the price tag was astronomical. Sam knew there had to be a better way.

That frustration led to Join Marathon. Sam started the firm in Santa Clara with a simple premise: work with businesses the way you'd want someone to work with you. That meant actually listening before proposing solutions, building strategies around real constraints (budget, team size, market timing), and sticking around to help implement instead of disappearing after the presentation. Sam's a Santa Clara resident, serves on the local Chamber of Commerce, and can usually be found at Chromatic Coffee on Thursday mornings.
